DP World is currently recruiting for a Shift Manager to join our fast-paced operation in Minworth on the night shift. The Shift Manager will oversee business operations, delegate tasks to team members, and resolve problems that occur during their shift. Responsibilities include stock inventory management and coordinating employee duties to improve efficiency and customer service.
Shift Pattern: Please note, this role is on our night shift, Monday - Friday, 10pm - 6am.
About the role:
- Manage daily logistics operations to ensure timely scheduling and delivery of commodities to customers.
- Coordinate with customers to ensure smooth scheduling and adherence; provide input on local conditions, identify needs, and adjust staffing as required.
- Implement contingency plans during system issues or disasters; escalate and direct activities accordingly; troubleshoot and participate in post-incident analysis for process improvements.
- Monitor performance against targets; take corrective actions and escalate when necessary.
- Provide effective leadership to warehouse managers and teams, enforce company standards, and serve as a role model.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Skills:
- Experience in operational roles, preferably in automotive or logistics industries.
- Strong analytical skills; ability to interpret complex documents and respond effectively to inquiries or complaints.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of delivering persuasive presentations on complex topics.
- Problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and interpret technical instructions.
- Proficient in computer skills including email, record keeping, databases, word processing, and spreadsheets.
