The European Road Freight Operator role plays a vital role in managing and coordinating European road freight shipments, with a focus on providing competitive and accurate transport quotations and ensuring operational excellence.
Our ideal candidate will have experience in freight forwarding, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to customer service and collaboration.
Location: Sale, Manchester
Hours: Monday – Friday
Contract: 12 month FTC
About the Role
How you will contribute:
Coordinate and manage day-to-day operations for European road freight shipments.
Procure accurate and cost-effective quotations from suppliers.
Provide competitive and timely quotations to clients.
Process customer bookings using internal IT systems.
Provide timely ETAs and shipment updates using CONNECT milestones.
Validate customs documents prior to clearance submission.
Complete billing and purchase invoicing by month-end.
Ensure compliance with SOPs and promote best practices across the department.
Act as a backup for team members when required.
Escalate issues to the EU General Manager as needed.
Maintain accurate job filing and ensure timely responses to correspondence.
Provide full handovers for planned absences or holidays.
Monitor profit and loss for assigned accounts and ensure business interests are upheld.

GCSEs or equivalent.
Experience
Minimum 2 years in freight forwarding.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Understanding of customs processes and operational logistics.
