Shift Pattern: This role works the 4 on 4 off shift pattern, working a mixture of days and nights.

About The Role

How will you contribute:

  • Use Terminal Operating Systems to monitor and control port operations.
  • Monitor ASC and quay crane performance to ensure efficient container movements and timely vessel operations.
  • Execute yard strategies, manage container separation, and optimize equipment allocation.
  • Monitor and adjust vessel work programs based on real-time data and resource availability.
  • Collaborate with Planners and operational staff to maintain smooth workflows.
  • Support the Shift Manager/Control room manager to assist with Control Room optimization as required.
  • Ensure accurate shift records and communicate key events to the Operations Management team.
  • Manage escalation procedures effectively and efficiently.
  • Handle voice radio communications, resolving issues promptly and accurately.
  • Relay detailed fault reports to engineering teams and planners.
  • Perform effective handovers and remain flexible in Control Room duties.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of company procedures and attend training as needed.
  • Uphold health, safety, and environmental standards in full compliance with legislation.
  • Carry out additional ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Proven knowledge of Terminal Operating Systems
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Good organisational and people management skills.
  • Minimum educational level; GCSE Maths and English grade C and above, or equivalent.
  • Full driving license holder.
  • Higher educational level or military training an advantage.
