Lead commercial finance analyst, partnering with our Distribution centre colleagues in the US remotely, whilst supporting the SVP of Global Logistics & Distribution. You will be responsible for providing accurate month-end reporting on spend and KPIs to aid strategic decision-making. Providing insight to aid cost-saving initiatives and strategic decision-making, whilst optimising processes and enabling efficiencies.
Responsibilities:
- Commercial Finance Business support for our Hanover DC (£15m-£20m), working remotely from the UK
- Leading monthly reporting for the DC, including actual cost performance and insight, Inventory shipment movements and key KPI metrics
- Understand DC and logistic operations and the cost to serve the Americas region
- Ensure accurate reporting of Cost Per Pair KPI
- Help identify opportunities to improve processes and enable cost savings
- Be the main business partner support for day-to-day and for ad-hoc queries
- Ensure robust process and controls are in place for PO and cost management
- Provide detailed analysis and insight to enable cost savings and value creation
- Support and model financials for business cases and projects
- Deputise from time to time for the Supply Chain Finance manager
- Provide cover to help support global DC reporting and forecasting (Total overheads £55m)
- Tracking of headcount and FTE within the building
Qualifications:
- Professionally qualified accountant or nearly qualified with ACA (Chartered), ACCA (Certified) or CIMA (Management) qualification.
- Experience working in a Medium or Large retail or wholesale business within the finance function.
- Effective in business partnering with non-financial business managers
- Knowledge and experience of planning, budget, and forecasting processes.
- Ability to apply sound judgment to accounting situations/questions, with good technical understanding.
- Analytical experience with an ability to work with large data sets and identify key drivers.
- Experience in adding value to business decision-making, investment valuation, and working on large financial analysis projects.
- Good commercial understanding of key cost drivers
- High levels of accuracy when working with data
- Good ability to manage multiple processes and projects
- Very good verbal / written communication skills
- Ability to develop self and others
- Very good time management & prioritisation skills
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills utilising Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint
- Experience working with Power BI or equivalent BI tools
- Ability to work to own initiative
