Security Officer

Location: Barnsley South Yorkshire Job Description: Doyle Security are seeking a diligent and proactive Security Officer to join us; you will join our core team at a customer’s site in Barnsley South Yorkshire. The role will mean you will be working within a logistical gatehouse within a high traffic facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of premises, personnel, and visitors. Key responsibilities include booking in and out vehicles, managing visitors and customers, conducting patrols, and performing vehicle temperature checks and ensuring the Health & Safety Policy for the site is adhered to.

Location: Barnsley South Yorkshire

Pay Rate £13.37 per hour after training

Responsibilities

  • Access Control: Efficiently manage the booking in and out of vehicles, visitors, and customers.
  • Patrol Duties: Regularly patrol the facility to ensure safety and security protocols are being followed.
  • Temperature Checks: Perform routine temperature checks on vehicles as part of our health and safety procedures.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of all activities using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Customer Service: Provide a professional and courteous service to visitors, customers, and employees.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to any security incidents or emergencies, following established protocols.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure a cohesive Security and Health & Safety strategy.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a security role, preferably within a logistics or similar high-traffic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for record-keeping and reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong observational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to perform patrols and handle physical aspects of the role.
  • Professionalism: A professional attitude and appearance at all times.

Qualifications

  • Valid Security Industry Authority (SIA) License.
  • First Aid.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • A full UK Driving Licence

Working Hours

  • Flexible working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by the operational needs of the facility.
  • 12-hour shift
  • An average of 42 hours per week
  • 4 on / 4 off; working nights and weekends.
