Responsibilities

  • Comply with HMRC regulations when exporting goods from the UK for the Dowty business.
  • Prepare customer orders & supplier purchase orders for international or UK shipments, including licences/EUU’s, re‑export for IPR entries, and discharge customs liabilities.
  • Include outside supplier processing & repair shipments and RTV (return to vendor).
  • Prepare shipping paperwork, raise and print customs invoice, create shippers letter of instruction, print documents, confirm shipment.
  • Record freight forwarder information, update export log, transact returns and corrections, prepare collection.
  • Coordinate paperwork for airway bills and request collection by agents/couriers based on current Incoterms.
  • Provide weights & dimensions, information to customers & freight companies.
  • Complete TMS (Exostar) for Lockheed Martin shipments, OMB for Boeing, DHL Clear It to obtain C88 for road freight exports.
  • Raise concerns with documentation/items/packing, comply with export regulation for military parts, maintain aviation security policy, explain CPC codes for export.
  • File delivery notes, invoices, airway bills and additional paperwork on‑site or at off‑site locations such as Iron Mountain.
  • Qualify for quality release, access release code and source inspection via sales order screen’s DFF, print release documents, electronically sign per approval.
  • Handle AOG (aircraft on ground) requirements, out‑of‑hours rota after qualifying period, respond to AOG requests, attend daily CCC/PCC for prioritisation.
  • Provide cover for dispatch packing, stores and goods‑in as per business needs, demonstrate good inventory control.
  • Update data accurately in the business system, produce shipping reports, dispatch and export log details.
  • Maintain a compliant environment, ensure system integrity, adhere to financial & quality audit regulations, review delivery issues, handle non‑conforming stock per quality procedures.

Qualifications

  • Previous warehouse packing experience (desired).
  • Familiar with manufacturing environment; aerospace preferred.
  • Proven knowledge of shipping documentation and systems.
  • Competent in use of computerised systems.
  • Current and valid forklift licence (desired).
  • Known consignor qualification (desired).
  • Oracle R12 experience.
  • Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance required.
