Duties
- Measure, cut, strip and prepare cables for assembly
- Prepare connectors, components, heat shrink materials and identification products
- Assist with cable assemblies, panel builds and mechanical assembly work
- Follow technical drawings, bills of materials and production instructions
- Use hand tools and workshop equipment safely and correctly
- Carry out quality checks to ensure work is completed accurately
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area
- Support the Assembly team in meeting production targets
Experience
- Good practical skills and manual dexterity
- Comfortable using basic hand tools
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to follow instructions and work in a methodical way
- Keen to learn new technical skills and develop as a Junior Assembly Technician
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, organised and punctual
- GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent
- Previous manufacturing, workshop or assembly experience would be beneficial
- Any experience with soldering, crimping, fibre optics, cable assembly or panel wiring would be advantageous
- Ability to read technical drawings and use test equipment would be desirable
- Technical or engineering qualifications and a full UK driving licence would be beneficial
