We are recruiting a Sales & Customer Support Agent to join a growing business specialising in automotive and marine electrical components and accessories. This is a varied, customer-facing role within a small but fast-paced team, handling both pre- and post-sales enquiries. The successful candidate will develop a strong understanding of DC battery systems and associated equipment in order to confidently advise customers. A technically minded approach and genuine interest in how products work are essential, with full training provided.
Role Details
- Position: Sales & Customer Support Agent (Permanent)
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
- Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Reporting to: Sales & Marketing Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Support & Administration
- Respond to customer enquiries via phone, email, and live chat
- Liaise with couriers to resolve delivery queries
- Process order amendments, returns, refunds, and warranty claims
- Manage customer accounts with professionalism and efficiency
- Provide pre-sales product advice and technical guidance
- Recommend suitable products based on customer requirements
- Perform basic technical calculations where required
- Take customer orders and card payments over the phone
- Prepare quotations and proforma invoices
- Support customers with post-sales technical queries
Person Specification
- Qualifications
- GCSEs (or equivalent) with good passes in English, Maths, and at least one Science subject
- Confident and professional communicator, particularly over the phone
- Technically minded with the ability to understand and explain products
- Strong attention to detail with good numeracy skills
- Well-organised, conscientious, and able to work effectively in a small team
- Energetic, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment
- Strong written and verbal English skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Previous customer support or customer-facing experience, ideally within a technical or product-led environment
- A genuine interest in technology and understanding how things work is essential for success in this role.
