About Downing: Downing is dedicated to delivering investments that matter - for our economy, our health, our society, our local communities and our environment. As a certified B Corp, we take our responsibilities, to our investors, our stakeholders and society, seriously. We invest for return while always considering our impact on the world.

About the Role: You will be part of a small central team of four within our Downing Digital’s Transformation and Change function. You will be the day-to-day counterpart for operational leads across the business, identifying opportunities for digital transformation across Digital’s full portfolio (software, data products, reporting, low-code, and AI), helping leads progress initiatives through Digital’s delivery framework, and making sure communication between Digital and its departments is clear, timely, and useful.

A growing part of this work is AI enablement. Digital is extending its transformation remit to help departments identify and adopt AI, and this role is where much of that happens in practice, working directly with operational leads to surface opportunities and move them forward. This is an active role. You’ll work directly with department heads and operational leads to surface problems worth solving, help shape what good looks like, and ensure that what gets delivered actually lands. You’ll own the pipeline reporting and communication that keeps everyone (departments and Digital leadership) informed on what’s happening, what’s next, and what’s been delivered. You will also use AI tools to manage, accelerate, and improve how you and the team operate.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with operational leads and department heads to identify opportunities for digital transformation, including AI. Surface problems, explore solutions, and help them progress.
  • Own pipeline reporting and communication. Make sure departments know what’s being worked on, when, and in what order.
  • Help operational leads use Digital’s delivery framework effectively, ensuring initiatives are well-shaped and progressing.
  • Help departments identify and progress AI opportunities as part of Digital’s broader enablement programme.
  • Lead larger, cross-department initiatives that require coordination across multiple delivery teams.
  • Ensure value from initiatives is captured and reviewed post-delivery, making outcomes visible.
  • Inform prioritisation discussions and resourcing decisions within Digital, using what you see across the portfolio.
  • Support adoption rollouts, helping departments get started with what Digital delivers.
  • Use AI to manage, accelerate, and improve how the team works.

What success looks like:

  • Digital’s communication with departments is clear, timely, and reliable. No one is left wondering what’s happening.
  • The pipeline is accurate, visible, and focused on value. It drives prioritisation and resourcing decisions.
  • AI opportunities are being identified and progressed across departments as part of the transformation portfolio.
  • Cross-department initiatives are delivered on time, without things falling through gaps.
  • Delivered work is reviewed and outcomes are captured. Value is visible, not assumed.

Qualifications:

Early career with 2-4 years’ experience from within a digital, technology, change, or delivery-focused environment.

Required Skills:

  • An AI-first mindset. You already use AI tools daily to think, research, draft, and solve problems. You experiment with new capabilities as they emerge, and you’re excited about what’s coming next.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. You can work across teams and levels, influence outcomes you don’t directly own, and make complex information clear to a busy audience.
  • Comfort with data analytics and reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau.
  • High initiative. You figure out how to make things happen without waiting for perfect conditions or permission.
  • A systems mindset. You think about how things connect and how changes in one area affect others.

Preferred Skills:

  • Financial services or professional services background would be valuable.
  • Experience with delivery frameworks, change management, or product management practices.
  • Hands-on experience with low-code tools or automation platforms.
