The customer team are currently a team of ten people, providing an exceptional customer experience, blending direct interaction with behindâtheâscenes efficiency. We ensure customers feel valued while streamlining processes to keep everything running smoothly.
Role and responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled CASS Operations Specialist to join our team on a permanent basis. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of our CASS (Client Assets Sourcebook) operations. The successful candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong analytical capability, and a proactive mindset toward improving processesâincluding the exploration and adoption of AI enabled efficiencies.
- CASS Operations & Reconciliations
- Execute and oversee daily, monthly, and CMAR linked CASS reconciliations
- Manage and validate external custodian bank reconciliation processes ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely resolution of breaks
- Controls, Governance & Audit
- Strengthen, document, and maintain robust CASS controls and procedures
- Support internal and external audits, FCA oversight reviews, and relationship management with our external custodian
- Ensure full compliance with CASS regulations and internal risk frameworks
- Process Improvement & Innovation
- Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives across CASS and operational workflows
- Drive AI enabled process optimisation, reducing manual effort and improving operational efficiency
- Build and maintain streamlined processes that enhance speed, accuracy, and control
Education, experience and skills
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- CASS exams / accredited CASS qualification, such as:
- CIIS Investment Operations Certificate (IOC)
- Unit 2: Settlement, Clearing & Custody
- Unit 3: Investment Operations

Downing operates a hybrid working policy whereby employees are expected to work from the office for a minimum of 3 days each week. If specific days are required in the office, this will be communicated during the interview process.
