Hillcrest Primary School is looking for two Classroom Assistants to start from September 2026. Both roles will be fixed‑term for one year, with the primary role covering any age group as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teaching colleagues in delivering the curriculum to primary‑aged children.
- Motivate polite, well‑behaved children and facilitate their learning.
- Assist children to make progress with their learning, regardless of their starting point.
- Manage daily challenges, including supporting children with behavioural difficulties while encouraging progress.
Additional Contract
The successful candidates will also be expected to take on a separate contract for a MSA role.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience and/or training with primary‑aged children.
- Strong ability to motivate children and support teaching colleagues.
- Capacity to support children to make progress with their learning.
- Capacity to manage children displaying behavioural difficulties.
Legal Requirements
The role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references. Applicants must meet the requirements of the Childcare (Disqualification) 2009 regulations. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act; an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced DBS check with barred list is required. Applicants will be asked to make a criminal conviction declaration if shortlisted.
