Downey Osborne is looking for an Accounting Manager to join a leading business advisory setting. This is a hands-on role where you’ll lead complex accounting work across a wide range of portfolios, with autonomy, variety, and the opportunity to shape junior colleagues’ development.

About You
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or international equivalent)
- Strong technical accounting skills with ability to work from first principles
- Around 3 years post-qualification experience
- Confident preparing and reviewing detailed financial statements and management accounts
- Experienced supervising, coaching, and developing junior team members
- Skilled in multiple accounting processes, reconciliations, and reporting
- Highly professional, adaptable, and effective in a remote environment
- Strong working knowledge of local and international accounting standards, with awareness of alternative frameworks (UK GAAP/US GAAP/IFRS)
About Your Role

- Lead preparation and review of management accounts and detailed financial statements across multiple portfolios
- Provide meaningful insight and variance analysis to guide decision-making
- Ensure accounting compliance, financial controls, and reporting standards are consistently applied
- Mentor and support junior colleagues, acting as a senior presence across assignments

- Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations, and client-focused accounting tasks
- Participate in temporary assignments or secondments as required
- Contribute to process improvement, technology adoption, and risk management initiatives
- Maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models
