Downey Osborne is partnering with a growing organisation to recruit a Trainee Accounts Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their finance career to join a supportive team, gain exposure to a broad range of accounting duties, and develop their skills through hands-on experience and ongoing training.

About You
- Previous experience within an accounts or finance environment is desirable
- Strong attention to detail with a willingness to learn
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and finance systems
- Positive attitude with a proactive approach
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
About Your New Role
- Assist with preparation of accounts and financial reports
- Process purchase and sales invoices accurately
- Complete bank reconciliations and maintain financial records
- Support month-end procedures including journals and reconciliations
- Maintain accurate records and ensure financial information is up to date
- Work closely with senior members of the finance team to develop technical knowledge
- Assist with credit control and supplier reconciliations
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Help prepare management information and financial reports
- Investigate discrepancies and resolve queries
- Gain exposure to different areas of the finance function
- Support audit preparation and provide information as required
- Assist with process improvements and system updates
- Take on additional responsibilities as skills and experience develop
- Support wider finance projects and business initiatives
