We are recruiting a Bookkeeper to join a friendly and supportive accountancy team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid bookkeeping experience who enjoys working with a varied client portfolio in a fast-paced environment. About You:
- Qualified Accounting Technician (ATI, AAT, or equivalent) is desirable
- Minimum 3 years' bookkeeping or accounts experience, ideally within an accountancy practice
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles, VAT, and cloud accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confident communicator with a client-focused approach
About Your New Role:
Always:
- Manage bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients across a range of industries
- Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time
- Maintain sales and purchase ledgers, bank reconciliations, and control accounts
- Process journals and ensure financial records are complete and accurate
- Build strong working relationships with clients and colleagues
Often:
- Assist with the preparation of management accounts
- Liaise with clients to obtain financial information and resolve queries
- Support year-end accounts preparation by maintaining accurate records
- Work with cloud-based accounting systems such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks
Occasionally:
- Assist with payroll processing where required
- Support colleagues during busy periods and with ad hoc client projects
- Attend internal training sessions and continue your professional development
Never:
