About You
We are looking for someone who combines technical expertise with a proactive mindset. The ideal candidate will have:
- Part-qualified accountant status (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or relevant experience
- Strong IT skills and confidence using financial systems
- Good analytical and organisational skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly
- The ability to work well in a fast-paced and evolving environment
Your Responsibilities
Always:
- Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
- Support the production of year-end accounts and liaise with auditors as required
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate financial records
- Assist with VAT returns, payroll processing, and other statutory filings to ensure compliance
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis
Often:
- Prepare financial reports for management, highlighting key trends and performance insights
- Support analysis of margins, cash flow, and cost control to aid decision-making
- Identify opportunities to improve processes within the finance function
- Work with operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and alignment with business activity
- Assist with project accounting and cost tracking across the business
Occasionally:
- Support the implementation of new systems or improvements to existing finance processes
- Liaise with external stakeholders including auditors and banks when required
- Assist with financial planning for business initiatives and growth projects
- Contribute to ad hoc reporting and analysis requests from senior management
