About You
We are looking for someone who is detail-focused, organised, and eager to contribute to a dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have:
- Ideally fully qualified Accounts Technician status, or be part-qualified ACA, ACCA (or similar).
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar position.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Office; experience with Sage Accounts 50 is an advantage.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing.
- A proactive and positive approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Your Responsibilities
Always:
- Maintain computerised accounting systems for multiple group companies.
- Process purchase and sales ledgers accurately.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with deadlines.
- Uphold the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
Often:
- Complete intercompany account reconciliations.
- Assist with payment runs and resolve supplier queries.
- Support the preparation of management accounts and year-end accounts.
- Prepare project costings to support business decisions.
- Provide general administrative and accounts support tasks.
Occasionally:
- Contribute to system or process improvements within the finance team.
- Support with ad hoc financial analysis or reporting for senior management.
- Assist with audits or external stakeholder requests.
- Take part in projects across the wider group finance function.
