Downey Osborne is partnering with a successful and growing organisation to recruit an Accounts Technician. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will join an established finance team and gain exposure to a broad range of bookkeeping, statutory accounts, and financial reporting responsibilities within a fast-paced environment.

About You
- Qualified or Part Qualified Accounts Technician status (AAT or IATI)
- A minimum of 2 years' experience within a busy finance department
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to manage multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work independently while also contributing positively within a team environment
- A professional and collaborative approach to work
- Experience adapting to various accounting systems and software packages
About Your New Role
- Assist with the preparation of annual statutory accounts for a portfolio of small and medium-sized companies
- Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping activities
- Complete cash book postings and daily finance transactions
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Manage sales ledger activities and debtor statement reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal procedures
- Support the wider finance team with day-to-day accounting responsibilities
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
- Assist with year-end audit preparation and respond to auditor queries
- Submit statutory accounts and documentation to Companies House
- Liaise with external advisors, agents, and professional contacts
- Support financial reporting and compliance requirements across the wider group
- Assist with finance projects and process improvement initiatives
- Provide additional support to the finance team during peak periods
- Participate in ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required by management
Be expected to reconcile bank accounts using a crystal ball.
