We are pleased to be working with a well-established organisation to recruit a Finance Assistant to join a busy and collaborative finance team. This role plays a key part in supporting day-to-day banking and transactional finance activities, with exposure to a fast-paced and structured environment.

About You
- At least 2 years experience in a high-volume transactional finance role
- Background in cashiering or bookkeeping is highly desirable
- Experience working within a finance team environment
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, Outlook and Teams
- Experience using computerised accounting software
- Exposure to foreign currency transactions (desirable)
Your Responsibilities
- Always: Maintain accurate and complete bank account records; Process and co-authorise electronic payments within set deadlines; Post receipts, payments, direct debits and client cash to ledgers; Prepare, post and print cheques on a daily basis; Complete daily reconciliations across multiple bank accounts; Arrange and process foreign currency payments when required; Move funds between bank accounts to ensure appropriate balances; Resolve queries with internal teams and external parties; Manage and monitor a busy finance inbox.
- Often: Liaise with colleagues to ensure transactional activity is recorded correctly; Collaborate with team members to ensure emails and queries are actioned promptly; Provide cover and support for other members of the finance team; Communicate with banks and external organisations to resolve issues.
- Occasionally: Assist with additional finance or administrative tasks as required; Support wider finance team projects during peak periods.
- Never: Ignore cut-off times; Stick a fork into a live electrical socket.
