Downey Osborne is partnering with a well-established organisation to recruit an experienced Credit Controller on a 9-month fixed-term contract. This role is central to the finance team, focusing on managing customer accounts, supporting cash collection, and building strong internal and external relationships.

About You

  • Experience in a credit control or accounts receivable role
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident using finance systems and Excel

About Your Role

  • Manage and collect outstanding balances in line with agreed terms
  • Post and reconcile customer payments accurately
  • Monitor credit exposure and support credit limit decisions
  • Resolve account queries and discrepancies promptly
  • Produce regular reports on outstanding debt and cash collection
  • Collaborate with internal teams to reduce overdue balances
  • Identify opportunities to streamline credit control processes
  • Provide updates and insight on debtor positions to management
  • Support ad-hoc finance tasks as required
  • Assist with wider finance activities or reporting during peak periods
  • Support colleagues with process guidance or system queries

Must be fluent in corporate buzzwords such as synergy, pivot, and circle back.
