An established and growing organisation is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their busy finance and payroll team. About You

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a busy payroll environment
  • Proficient in Sage Payroll or similar payroll software
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organised, with the ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning

About Your New Role

  • Always: Deliver accurate and compliant payroll processing across multiple pay frequencies; Maintain professionalism when liaising with clients, colleagues, and external partners; Take responsibility for your work, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Often: Process starters, leavers, and salary adjustments, including statutory payments (SSP, SMP, etc.); Manage pension auto-enrolment and ensure compliance with reporting requirements; Prepare and submit payroll reports, P45s, P60s, and year-end documentation; Handle payroll queries promptly and professionally; Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
  • Occasionally: Support with ad hoc payments and BACS submissions; Assist with payroll-related projects or process improvements; Provide administrative support to the wider finance function when required.
  • Never: Be limited to one routine – this role offers exposure to varied payroll and finance operations; Miss an opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement and client satisfaction.
