We are currently recruiting for a Highways Maintenance Supervisor to join our Highways team working around the Northwest Region. As the Highways Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the successful delivery and supervision of kerbing, paving, drainage, and patching works by Dowhigh Ltd and our sub-contractors. The role will include day and night shifts subject to contract requirements.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead operatives on site.
- Co‐ordinate tasks including drainage, kerbing, ducting, concrete and tarmac works.
- Ensure works are completed safely, on time and to a high standard.
- Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks and enforce health and safety protocols.
- Liaise with site managers, engineers and subcontractors.
- Monitor progress and report to the contracts manager.
- Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.
- Carry out site inspections & audits and report Safety Observations.
- Manage productivity and identify methods to reduce costs and maximise profitability.
Requirements
- Valid SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
- CSCS Black/Gold card (Foreman/Supervisor level).
- Street Works qualification.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Proven experience as a working foreman on civils/groundworks projects.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of site health and safety procedure.
- Ability to work flexible shifts (days & nights).
- Experience in workflow local authority job specification systems.
