Responsibilities

  • The Sales Development Representative is responsible for identifying, contacting, and qualifying new leads in order to set-up introductory meetings with members of the GRI sales team
  • Call current and prospective clients to set-up meetings for the GRI suite of products
  • Work closely with New Business Sales Executives, Account Managers and Sales Specialists to devise sales campaigns for specific segments.

Identify target groups, build prospect lists and generate qualified sales leads through targeted campaigns

  • Identify, qualify and develop new leads to achieve and exceed personal and team revenue goals
  • Develop necessary internal relationships with all parts of the Professional Information Business team (Data Strategy, Product, Marketing & Sales)
  • Maintain records of sales calls, contacts and sales campaigns in the global CRM to provide timely management information

Qualifications

  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must
  • Degree level education or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Ability to maintain effectiveness when working closely with people of diverse cultures or backgrounds
  • Experience in selling information and compliance tools to senior business decision makers is a plus
  • Knowledge or ability to learn the processes and daily workflow of compliance personnel
  • Comfort and confidence with cold calling
  • Proactive, with a ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to adapt in a fast changing environment
  • Ability to identify key customer issues to determine whether it is appropriate to set-up a meeting with a specialist
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to drive new business opportunities within new prospects, as well as ability to upsell to existing Dow Jones customers within a team selling environment
  • Driven by results
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple activities and re-prioritize when necessary to ensure revenue goals are achieved
  • Ability to utilize effective influencing strategies to gain agreement or commitment to proposed solutions in order to help advance the sales process to the next level
