Overview McCloskey by OPIS has an opening for an experienced Research Director, Ferroalloys in our global research and analysis team. You will be the research lead for our Ferroalloys coverage, reporting to the McCloskey Research Lead. The role will focus on leading our expanding coverage of the bulk ores markets, and their use in both ferroalloys and batteries. You will work alongside our industry-leading journalists and price analysts, located around the world. About The Team McCloskey by OPIS provides integrated offerings of market intelligence, price indexes and forecasting. Energy transition relies on a mineral-intensive process, and it is important to understand the dynamics shaping thermal and metallurgical coal, ferroalloys, iron ore, scrap, steel and base metals markets, globally and in important regions across Australia, Africa, India, China, Europe and the Americas. Responsibilities Develop and/or maintain supply and demand balance sheets for selected ferroalloys and their underlying ores. Develop and/or maintain price forecasts for ferroalloys and their related ores. Utilize your existing network to help develop OPIS client base in the ferroalloys space. Maintain client and industry relationships, and share and source market intelligence. Represent OPIS in public forums such as conferences and webinars. Develop periodic pieces on topical industry issues (e.g. regulatory/policy developments, geopolitical issues, investment, project pipeline, ESG etc.). Engage in business development, assisting OPIS\' account managers in the sales process through maintaining sales pipelines and assisting in the sales process. Be a public face of McCloskey and OPIS in the ferroalloys space, through client/stakeholder engagements, industry presentations, media interviews, content marketing. Qualifications 12+ years of experience in the ferroalloys industry and markets. Experience covering ferroalloys, bulk ores, batteries or related markets as an analyst. Excellent interpersonal skills, impact and influence skills. Excellent ability to present and to lead public discussions (e.g. moderating panels at conferences). Strong quantitative skills. Exemplary written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. The ability to work within a team while sometimes operating alone. Management experience. Bachelor\'s degree.
