Dragonfly, part of Dow Jones, is a specialist provider of global security and geopolitical risk intelligence. We support businesses, international organisations and public-sector clients with actionable, all-source intelligence, meeting their requirements from conflict zones to the boardroom. Our client base includes many of the world\’s leading multinational corporations across the full spectrum of sectors, as well as public institutions and international organisations. Our flagship offering, the Security Intelligence & Analysis Service (SIAS) , is a market leader in current and anticipatory intelligence for professionals in security, crisis management and in-house intelligence roles.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Research Analyst to join the Dragonfly team in a junior/entry-level research-focused role with a global remit. As part of a wider team, they will conduct open-source data collection and media monitoring in maintaining key Dragonfly products: the TerrorismTracker (TT) database and Travel Risks Monitor (TRM). You have a keen interest in terrorism and extremism, be curious, analytical, detail-oriented and comfortable using open-source tools and techniques. You will report to the Crisis and Operational Risks Lead.

They will also work in direct support of Dragonfly\’s team of intelligence analysts on discrete taskings. This includes but is not limited to assisting regional analysts with research for reports and client requests.

You Will:

  • Conduct high-quality open-source research, monitoring and data gathering, including qualifying sources and validating information
  • Utilise, develop and maintain our resources, specifically data feeds and open source networks
  • Provide high-quality research in support of project work and security intelligence reports or briefings, within agreed timescales, seeking guidance where required
  • Be proactive in taking on day-to-day tasks and ensuring team delivery demands are met
  • Be comfortable operating in a team environment and working on process-driven tasks
  • You Have:

  • A demonstrable professional or academic interest in terrorism, political violence and extremism
  • Professional or academic experience in open-source research and monitoring
  • An understanding of conducting balanced and objective research
