About the Role:
Barron\’s is seeking a high-energy general assignment reporter who can insightfully cover breaking business and markets news from our London bureau.
We are seeking a fast, accurate reporter and writer who can offer insights into the biggest stories of the day, which are typically focused on U.S. equities. The role includes writing a market report on rotation, and newsletter commentary.
The reporter should write stories that deliver timely analysis β or an interesting angle β about topics that Barron\’s readers are trying to understand.
The reporter would also be encouraged to write longer, deeply reported features and analytical pieces. Experience writing enterprise would be an advantage.
Barron\’s values teamwork and therefore a collaborative approach is required.
The role involves an early start, and is office-based at least 3 days a week.

You Will:
- Generate quick angles and strong ideas off the news and meet urgent deadlines.
- Be digitally savvy with a keen understanding of how to attract readers by making the news digestible by using FAQs, charts, and other news-you-can-use story forms.
- Have an understanding of viral stories.
You Have:
- At least five years experience working as a reporter at a national or trade business news publication
- Collaborative, diplomatic approach and confidence making fast, well thought out decisions.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and a knack for writing snappy headlines and ledes
- Familiarity with corporate balance sheets, financial valuations and investing principles.
- Experience writing earnings reports, market commentary and newsletter posts
- Familiarity with U.S. markets and companies.
