We are seeking a strategic, dynamic leader for the newly created role of Director of Communications, Dow Jones Energy. This is a pivotal position during a period of significant growth and investment for our Energy business.

Location: London Bridge (hybrid). You will work in our London Bridge office 3 days each week.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and launch a comprehensive global communications strategy for Dow Jones Energy, aligning messaging across diverse sectors including oil, chemicals, sustainability, renewables and electric vehicles (EVs).
  • Identify, train and position key subject matter experts and business leaders as industry‑leading voices for market‑moving insights. Manage their profiles at major industry events and across digital platforms.
  • Partner with product, sales and editorial teams— as well as other parts of Dow Jones—to translate complex data sets and benchmarks into compelling stories that resonate with trade, business, financial and broadcast media.
  • Act as the primary bridge between the Energy business unit and the broader Dow Jones global communications team, leveraging shared resources to ensure consistent execution of the Energy roadmap.
  • Build and maintain high‑level relationships with key energy and commodities journalists and broadcast producers to secure consistent, high‑quality coverage of our data and experts.
  • Support high‑profile social media campaigns, advising on positioning and posting as needed.
  • Establish internal communication channels to ensure the Energy team's successes and strategic priorities are well‑understood by the global team, as well as the wider Dow Jones organization.
  • Support a regular cadence of internal communications and engagement activities that will drive a culture of collaboration, learning and growth.

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of professional B2B experience in corporate communications and public relations (direct experience in the energy space including oil, chemicals, commodities, renewables, or other adjacent industries is preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience leading a communications portfolio encompassing media relations, executive profiling, thought leadership, social media, and internal communications to drive business goals.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a “blank canvas” environment—you are comfortable moving quickly, building processes where none exist and driving projects from concept to completion.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a track record of leading by influence, managing stakeholders in a matrixed environment and mobilizing team resources you do not directly manage.
  • Masterful writing and editing skills with the ability to turn technical market analysis into clear, impactful prose for a global audience.
  • Experience working across multiple time zones and cultures; a willingness to travel as needed to support global events and leadership.
  • Ability to work in our London Bridge office at least 3 days each week.
