The Trust is a collective of energetic writers, content and creative strategists, videographers, designers, photo editors and developers. The work spans a variety of forms; short- and long‑form reported articles, documentary videos, interactive data visualisations, animations, and more.
The Trust is looking to hire a London‑based Designer reporting into the Design Lead of The Trust International. We are looking for a talented, collaborative and versatile individual with an understanding of visual storytelling. The role will require an individual with a thoughtful approach to design, producing world‑class custom content campaigns for clients in Europe, the Middle East and Asia that resonate with The Wall Street Journal’s audience of decision makers worldwide.
You will work with team members including the Design Lead, Creative Director, editors, developers and the Executive Director of Content based across EMEA and APAC, and with our Integrated Marketing team to understand client briefs and produce sophisticated and intelligent campaigns. You will also work on commissioning work out to our network of designers, illustrators, photographers and more to support the creation of our content. This role will need a creative problem solver able to understand the practicality and feasibility of campaigns as well as able to execute to a high standard.
We are looking for at least 5 years experience in an agency or custom content studio. The role requires this individual to be client‑facing, guiding them through the design process. The role requires 3 days in office in London Bridge.
Key Responsibilities- Work with team members such as the Design Lead, Creative Director & Editors on creative ideation and art direction for custom editorial content campaigns from pre‑sale through to post‑sale production.
- Creation of custom editorial design assets across digital and print mediums.
- Work closely with the web development team to build engaging and attractive bespoke experiences.
- Participate in regular client‑facing calls to present work and guide clients through the design process.
- Manage and direct creative partners such as illustrators and photographers when needed.
- Generate and source imagery to be featured in articles.
- Have experience of both digital and print storytelling design.
- Have excellent time‑management skills – this is a fast‑paced environment.
- Be proactive in approaching their work.
- Be driven, self‑motivated and want to influence their own development.
- Be ego‑free – accept feedback graciously and be unpossessive about ideas.
- Be a team player, always willing to facilitate the team’s needs.

- Fluency with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with Figma is preferred.
- Strong portfolio showing previous visual storytelling and creative campaign work.
- Knowledge of different CMS platforms – a plus.
