The Senior Product Manager will lead significant product areas and initiatives, tackling complexity and contributing to strategy with strong judgement and analytical rigor. They expertly prioritize, influence stakeholders across teams, build robust partnerships, and possess deep domain or technical expertise. With the focus on Screening Algorithms, this role will become the subject matter expert for our matching algorithms and help develop the strategy for our algorithms in line with market needs. The person will also oversee customer migrations and support efforts where customers are migrating from one matching algorithm to another, driving the business to ever-greater heights by ensuring our algorithms develop appropriately for the market; interacting with key accounts, vendors, supporting our Sales teams globally with relationship development as well as building relationships directly.
The role will be responsible for the execution of strategies and plans to improve our market proposition with regard to search and matching, and improve our effectiveness through close interaction within the Technology and Data teams. The Senior Product Manager is responsible for the overall management of the suite of homegrown and third-party matching algorithms embedded in Dow Jones Risk & Compliance products. This role reports directly to the Senior Director of SaaS and is part of the Risk & Compliance Product Management Team and will require regular interaction and liaison with the Dow Jones technology team as well as third-party vendors.
It is the responsibility of the Senior Product Manager to ensure that the existing matching functionality and explainability features are operating as specified, the user-facing and internal support documentation accurately reflects current functionality, and all changes to matching, configuration and explainability functionality are defined, specified, scoped, scheduled, delivered and communicated both internally and to our client base.
You Will
- Develop the matching algorithm strategy and understand market opportunities and competitive landscape.
- Collaborate with research and business proposition teams to ensure market-driven needs are met.
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop, prioritize and deliver matching algorithm enhancements ensuring the roadmap is clearly understood by stakeholders, proposition and sales.
- Lead and execute the Sprint Planning and Backlog Management, ensuring that agreed priorities are adhered to, minor changes are progressed and the Backlog is maintained to retain Engineering utilisation.
- Lead and execute the communications (internally and externally) of new feature releases and maintenance of user guides.
- Demonstrate strong collaboration skills in working with multiple internal and external teams to build out, maintain, and effectively position the matching strategy, within our products, to the marketplace.
- Define, lead and coordinate the consistent access to, and usage of, explainability information and tools, for all products using our matching algorithm.
- Independently gather, aggregate and analyze metadata and associated metrics from all products using the matching algorithm to ensure continuity within the Risk & Compliance product suite.
- Serve as a product expert and escalation point for the Customer Services team and for clients, including soliciting feedback and communicating same for product improvements.
- Lead discussions with cross-functional teams from different product lines to ensure transparency and alignment of strategic product vision when it comes to search algorithms within Risk & Compliance products.
You Have
- +7 years of experience and mastery in the practice of product management, with a track record of successfully managing large and complex projects or entire products.
- Proven ability to independently execute long-term complex product strategies, managing the prioritization and trade-offs for complex product initiatives, and using data to drive decisions.
- A solid understanding of technical architecture and the software development process that includes Agile methodologies (Scrum).
- 5+ years experience in scoping, budgeting, scheduling and delivering complex project implementations.
- Knowledge of search and text matching technologies, machine learning and statistical methods.
