As a Commercial Account Manager, Regional Accounts at Dow Jones Energy, your primary role is to protect and grow revenue within a designated portfolio of high-value, strategically critical accounts. You are a senior relationship builder and growth strategist, focused on maximizing long-term customer lifetime value, securing large renewals, and executing strategic cross-sell/upsell initiatives across complex corporate structures.

Our offerings support commercial trading desks, optimization analysts, and supply chain executives navigating spot, wholesale, and retail markets, as well as emerging segments tied to the global energy transition. Through authoritative data, real-time intelligence, and deep market expertise, we enable energy professionals to mitigate risk and make high-stakes commercial decisions in volatile, fast-evolving global markets.

You Will:

  • Strategic Account Planning: Develop and execute multi-year account roadmaps for top-tier regional accounts, mapping out corporate hierarchies, key subsidiaries, and internal procurement alignment.
  • Executive Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain deep, trusted relationships with C-suite executives, senior procurement directors, and global heads of trading or market risk.
  • Enterprise Growth & Expansion: Drive aggressive white space expansion by introducing DJE’s comprehensive suite of products to new departments, business units, and international regions within the account.
  • Proactive Retention & Risk Mitigation: Own the global renewal process for your portfolio, continuously tracking platform usage, monitoring customer health metrics, and neutralizing competitive threats.
  • Cross-Functional Orchestration: Act as the primary internal quarterback, coordinating with SMEs, research analysts, and product specialists to deliver bespoke enterprise solutions.

Core Metrics of Success:

  • Net Installs: Combined total of both net-new subscriptions and existing contract renewals secured/lost.
  • Retention Rate: Percentage of assigned account contract values successfully renewed year-over-year.
  • Forecasting: Ensure forecast accuracy by correctly identifying where each customer is in the sales cycle and documenting in the CRM.
  • Account Penetration: Growth in the number of active user licenses, departments engaged, and DJE product modules adopted by each key corporate entity.

You Have:

  • Experience: in enterprise sales, strategic account management, or business development with a proven record of exceeding multi-million dollar quotas.
  • Industry Fit: Experience at energy market data vendors, price reporting agencies, commodity software providers, or commercial divisions of major energy firms is strongly preferred.
  • Commercial Skills: Demonstrated ability to negotiate large, complex contracts and present to C-suite and senior commercial leaders.
  • Technical Fluency: Strong understanding of how market data, benchmarks, APIs, and analytics integrate into trading, optimization, and risk workflows.
  • Tools: Advanced proficiency with Salesforce and modern sales engagement and analytics platforms.
