About the Role: This role sits within Dow Jones Risk & Enterprise business, reporting to the Director of Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) Proposition and is responsible for conducting qualitative and quantitative research on the Financial Crime Compliance industry. Candidates will have a robust understanding of global regulatory requirements surrounding AML and sanctions compliance for financial institutions.

You will:

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on the global financial crime compliance landscape, including AML, sanctions, and adjacent regulatory developments, to identify trends, whitespace opportunities, and areas for proposition growth.
  • Analyse market signals, industry developments, and customer needs to produce recommendations with tangible business outcomes, especially for Financial Institutions and other high-value target segments.
  • Track and manage global enforcement actions and maintain accurate, current intelligence that can be used by stakeholders across product, marketing, and sales.
  • Support both the FCC and TPR proposition teams by contributing research, analysis, business tracking, and special projects that advance strategic priorities.
  • Help drive proposition planning and execution by maintaining reporting materials, updating team OKRs, and supporting regular business reviews and progress reporting.
  • Partner closely with proposition leads on strategic initiatives, including market landscaping, growth analysis, customer segmentation, and go-to-market support.
  • Build and maintain structured trackers, spreadsheets, and research assets that enable cross-functional teams to monitor market developments, priorities, and performance efficiently.
  • Produce polished written outputs, presentations, and briefing materials that simplify complex technical topics for internal stakeholders.

You have:

  • One to two years of experience in an analyst role at a financial institution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong research and analytical capabilities, with the ability to assess both qualitative and quantitative information and extract clear implications for the business.
  • A robust understanding of global AML and sanctions compliance requirements affecting financial institutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with an eagerness to support others, take ownership, and continue learning.
  • Strong Excel and/or Google Sheets skills, with the ability to organise, maintain, and analyse complex datasets and trackers.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical and regulatory topics in a clear, concise way for different audiences.
  • An interest in white collar crime, regulatory change, and international affairs is a plus.
