We are seeking an experienced and passionate Course Leader and Senior Lecturer in Coaching & Performance Management to join a forward‑thinking Higher Education provider in London. The role involves shaping and leading an innovative, industry‑aligned programme focused on performance and esports.
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic and operational management of the Coaching & Performance Management programmes.
- Deliver engaging and high‑quality teaching across coaching, performance management, athlete development, psychology, analytics, and related subjects.
- Develop innovative, industry‑aligned curriculum content and applied learning opportunities.
- Supervise student projects, applied coaching practice, and performance analysis work.
- Ensure compliance with academic regulations, quality assurance processes, and external benchmarks.
- Lead programme reviews, validation activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support student engagement, retention, progression, and employability outcomes.
- Build strong relationships with coaching organisations, esports and sport clubs, analytics providers, and industry professionals.
- Lead programme team meetings and coordinate academic delivery across the programme area.
- Coach, mentor, and support the professional development of academic staff.
- Contribute to research, scholarly activity, and industry‑focused projects relevant to coaching and performance management.
- Represent the programme at recruitment events, open days, and external engagement activities.
Essential Requirements
- Proven programme leadership experience within Higher Education or a professional training environment.
- Strong academic or professional background in coaching, performance management, sport science, esports performance, psychology, or related disciplines.
- Experience teaching within Higher Education or equivalent environments.
- Understanding of curriculum design, assessment practices, and academic quality assurance.
- Experience leading or coordinating academic delivery or applied practice teams.
- Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- Commitment to inclusive teaching and delivering an exceptional student experience.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and develop staff members.
Desirable Requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience working within OfS regulated environments or HE quality frameworks.
- Industry experience in coaching, athlete development, performance analysis, or applied performance settings.
- Experience supervising applied projects or reflective portfolios.
