We are working with a welcoming FE college in Leeds that is seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join their team on a fixed-term basis, with the strong likelihood of the role becoming permanent after one academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in secondary or further education, supporting learners with special educational needs. There are two fixed shift options available, designed to support work-life balance while still making a difference.
Contract Options:
- 25.5 hours per week across 4 days
- 31 hours per week across 5 days
(Both 9:00am-3:30pm, term-time)
Essential requirements:
- Experience supporting SEN students in secondary or FE settings
- Level 2 qualification in Maths and English (or equivalent)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
- Understanding of Equality, Diversity, and inclusive education
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing in-class and 1:1 support for students with additional needs
- Supporting a range of learning difficulties, disabilities, and mental health conditions
- Liaising with tutors and support teams to monitor progress
- Promoting student independence and confidence
- Assisting with personal care only where necessary (minimal requirement)
