Head of Apprenticeship Delivery

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Regional Head of Apprenticeship Delivery to lead the successful delivery of electrical/ plumbing specialist apprenticeship programs within a defined region. This role will require a vocational specialist within the building industry (Electrical/Plumbing /Engineering) who is a strong leader and manage multiple high-performing teams, ensuring apprentices receive the best possible learner experience. You will also oversee the efficient operation of training centres and ensure subcontracted training meets quality standards., * Regional Strategy: Develop and implement a business plan for the region that aligns with national goals, including the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial targets.

• Team Leadership: Lead and manage teams across the region, ensuring a standardized and high-quality learner journey.

• Performance Improvement: Focus on improving first-time pass rates for end-point assessments, ensuring targets are met or exceeded.

• Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to support apprenticeship recruitment and optimize learner intake.

• Quality Assurance: Ensure high standards of delivery in line with national guidelines, particularly around safeguarding and learner progress.

• Employer Engagement: Maintain regular communication with employers to ensure they are informed of their apprentices’ progress.

• Resource Optimization: Maximize the use of regional training centers and reduce reliance on subcontracted provision.

• Commercial Development: Collaborate with relevant partners to use excess capacity in training centers for commercial opportunities.

• Subcontractor Management: Oversee the performance of subcontractors in the region, conducting regular reviews and intervening when necessary.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Manage relationships with key national and regional stakeholders, attending relevant events and committees to promote the organization.

• Continuous Improvement: Drive improvements in processes and practices, sharing best practices across the organization.

• Leadership: Act as a member of the senior leadership team, contributing to national strategies and leading key improvement projects as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing large teams across different locations, be familiar with work-based learning environments, have a vocational background in electrical/plumbing apprenticeships and have experience in improving performance metrics, such as pass rates for apprenticeships., * Qualifications: Educated to HNC level or equivalent, with a strong foundation in Math and English (GCSEs or equivalent).

• Experience: Proven experience in managing large, geographically dispersed teams, with responsibility for meeting performance targets.

• IT Skills: Strong proficiency in using IT systems, particularly for performance monitoring.

• Driving License: Must hold a valid driving license.

• Regional Knowledge/Location: Must reside within the region you will be managing.

• Industry Expertise: Working knowledge or experience in work-based learning and government-funded training programs.

• Vocational Qualification: Experience/ qualification in the building services engineering sector or related industries.

Desirable:

• Possession of teaching or assessor qualifications in a technical trade (e.g., electrical or plumbing).
