Dovetail and Slate are recruiting on behalf of a leading education provider based in Grimsby.
Role Purpose
- Support managers with everyday people-related matters like performance, absence, and recruitment.
- Build positive relationships across teams while promoting a helpful and solutions-focused HR culture.
- Help implement people processes that support staff wellbeing, development, and change.
Main Duties
- Advise managers on staff issues such as performance, absences, flexible working, and grievances.
- Support meetings by attending, taking notes, and guiding on HR policies and next steps.
- Manage admin processes for new starters, changes to roles, and leavers.
- Help with recruitment by processing agency requests and advising on contracts.
- Monitor and update HR systems, reports, and trackers (e.g. sickness, training, post changes).
- Be a visible point of contact across sites and attend meetings to give people-related advice.
Requirements
- CIPD Level 3 or higher.
- Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practice.
- Previous experience handling employee relations issues.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and relationship-building skills.
- Able to manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
