The Role:

You'll work across the full web development lifecycle-from concept to deployment-supporting the development of user-centric websites and applications. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include both maintaining and enhancing existing platforms as well as contributing to the design and implementation of new features.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and maintain responsive web applications and sites using a modern tech stack (PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, etc.)

  • Work with CMS platforms (primarily WordPress, with exposure to others like Umbraco)

  • Style applications using Sass, Bootstrap, and other front-end libraries

  • Ensure accessibility and performance across all web platforms

  • Collaborate in team discussions around digital strategy and ongoing project planning

  • Contribute to code reviews and promote best practice in clean, maintainable code

  • Suggest improvements to enhance the digital user experience

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum 12 months of hands-on development experience

  • Strong working knowledge of WordPress (and ideally other CMS platforms such as Umbraco)

  • Experience developing front-end interfaces and implementing new functionality

  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and data formats like JSON and XML

  • Image manipulation and optimization skills

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, with an eye for detail

Benefits:

This role offers a range of excellent employee benefits, including:

  • 29 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)

  • Flexible hybrid working model

  • Generous pension contribution

  • Life insurance and wellbeing support (including mental health days and healthcare cashback)

  • Access to a free on-site gym (Birmingham-based employees)

  • Enhanced maternity pay and birthday vouchers

About the Organisation:

The hiring organisation is a respected UK-based not-for-profit that supports individuals in managing financial difficulties with confidence. It fosters a collaborative and inclusive working environment, where diversity is celebrated, and everyone is encouraged to bring their whole self to work.
