Electrical Engineering Lecturer
Department: Electrical EngineeringLocation: PlymouthContract Type: PermanentSalary: £30,000 – £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)
An established further and higher education provider in Plymouth is looking to appoint a passionate and knowledgeable Electrical Engineering Lecturer to join its growing academic team. With a strong focus on inclusive, industry-aligned education from Entry Level to Higher Education, the institution partners closely with employers to deliver relevant and future-facing programmes.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and lab-based sessions in electrical and electronic engineering at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Create and update teaching resources and assessments that reflect current academic standards and industry requirements.
- Take an active role in curriculum development, ensuring course content remains relevant to emerging technologies and skills demands.
- Participate in individual and collaborative research projects, contribute to publications, and foster links with industry stakeholders.
- Support learners through academic guidance, timely feedback, and tailored support strategies.
- Contribute to departmental planning, quality assurance processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- A recognised teaching qualification or a willingness to work towards one.
- A minimum Level 2-4 qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths.
- An IQA qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
- Industry experience in an electrical engineering environment.
- Experience in teaching or training, particularly within manufacturing or electrical engineering disciplines.
- A strong track record in monitoring and supporting diverse student cohorts across various programmes.
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
