I'm currently supporting a fantastic college that is looking to appoint an experienced Payroll & Pensions Manager to join their HR and Finance function. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with strong payroll and pensions expertise who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and taking ownership of a critical function within the organisation.
- Managing the end-to-end monthly payroll process, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time
- Overseeing pension processes including LGPS, Teachers' Pensions and Auto Enrolment
- Submitting payroll reports, FPS/EPS returns and year-end payroll duties
- Monitoring payroll workflows and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations
- Acting as the main point of contact for payroll and pension queries
- Managing and developing payroll processes within the iTrent HR/Payroll system
- Producing payroll forecasting reports and supporting management accounts
- Line managing the Payroll/HR Administrator and supporting their development
- Ensuring payroll procedures remain compliant with current legislation and best practice
Previous payroll management experience within a medium to large organisation is required, along with strong knowledge of payroll legislation, pensions, PAYE and National Insurance. Experience using complex HR/payroll systems, ideally iTrent (MHR), is essential. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills, strong communication and organisational skills, and a proactive and collaborative approach to work are also necessary. Payroll or pensions qualifications such as CIPP or AAT are highly desirable.
