We are seeking a motivated and skilled Workshop Engineering Tutor to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis at our Aldridge site. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone from the mechanical engineering industry who is looking to move into education and training, with full support provided.
The Role
- Deliver a range of machining, milling and turning units, combining practical workshop-based teaching with underpinning theory.
- Teaching will be to Level 1-3 learners and apprentices, helping them develop the skills and knowledge required for successful careers in engineering.
- Delivering hands-on workshop sessions in machining, milling and turning.
- Teaching associated theory to Level 1-3 learners and apprentices.
- Ensuring high standards of health & safety and workshop practice.
- Supporting learners' progress and achievement.
Who We’re Looking For
- Level 3 qualification in Engineering (essential - no higher qualification required).
- Relevant, current experience in the mechanical engineering industry.
- Confidence working in a workshop environment.
- A desire to train, mentor and develop future engineers.
- No teaching experience is required - we welcome applications from industry professionals looking to transition into education.
Salary & Benefits
- £29,000 - £29,500 starting salary for candidates straight from industry.
- Salary increases once teaching and assessing qualifications are achieved.
- 25 days annual leave, plus 8 bank holidays.
