About the Role
An education provider is looking for a Hairdressing Lecturer to deliver practical and theory sessions to learners working towards industry-recognised qualifications.
You'll plan and deliver engaging salon and classroom sessions, assess learner progress and help students build the technical skills, professional standards and confidence they need to step into the hairdressing industry.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering practical and theory hairdressing sessions.
- Teaching cutting, colouring, styling and salon techniques to learners at a range of levels.
- Assessing learner work and tracking progress towards qualifications.
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety and hygiene within the salon.
- Creating a positive, well-structured learning environment that motivates learners to achieve.
What We're Looking For
- Level 2 (or higher) vocational qualification in Hairdressing
- Substantial hands-on industry experience as a hairdresser or salon professional
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate learners
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience teaching or assessing in further education
- An enhanced DBS on the update service
