Recruitment for education and the public sector
You'll join a further education provider in the South East, taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the site so that learners, staff and visitors have a safe, well-maintained environment to work in.
This is a hands‑on management role in a busy education setting. You'll oversee maintenance and site services, keep buildings and grounds in good order, and make sure health and safety standards are met across the site.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day‑to‑day operation of the site, including buildings, grounds and facilities services.
- Overseeing maintenance and repair work, and co‑ordinating contractors where specialist attention is needed.
- Ensuring health and safety standards are met and that risks are identified, recorded and addressed.
- Leading and supporting the site and maintenance team.
- Monitoring the condition of the premises and planning work to keep them safe, secure and well presented.
What We're Looking For
- Experience of managing facilities, premises or site services
- A sound working knowledge of health and safety in the workplace
- Confidence managing contractors and prioritising competing demands
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience of facilities management within an education or public sector environment
- A relevant health and safety or facilities management qualification
- Experience of managing facilities, premises or site services
- Sound working knowledge of health and safety in the workplace
- Confidence managing contractors and prioritising competing demands
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work on own initiative
