About the Role
A further education provider in Yorkshire and the Humber is looking for a Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer to join its team. You'll deliver both theory and practical workshop sessions, helping learners build the hands‑on skills and technical understanding they need to progress into employment or an apprenticeship.
You’ll work with learners of differing abilities and confidence levels, so your ability to explain, demonstrate and motivate will matter as much as your trade background.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering classroom and workshop-based teaching on carpentry and joinery programmes.
- Planning lessons and preparing industry-relevant learning materials.
- Assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
- Maintaining accurate learner records.
- Promoting a safe, professional and positive workshop environment.
What We’re Looking For

- Industry experience within carpentry and joinery
- The ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification
- Previous experience of teaching or mentoring
If you're ready to step off the tools and help shape the future of the construction industry, we'd love to hear from you.
