Job Description

Bakery Lecturer

Temporary | Contract

Location: the West Midlands

Are you an experienced bakery professional ready to pass your craft on to the next generation?

About the Role

We are working with a further education provider in the West Midlands who is looking for a Bakery Lecturer to join their team.

You'll deliver practical and theory sessions across bakery programmes, helping learners build the skills, knowledge and confidence the food and drink industry expects.

If you come from industry rather than teaching, that is welcome. Our client can offer the support you'll need to develop as an educator, so a strong bakery background matters more than prior classroom experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering bakery lessons across classroom and practical kitchen settings.
  • Assessing learners' work and providing constructive feedback to support their progress.
  • Supporting students to achieve their qualifications and prepare for employment or further study.
  • Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, health and safety in practical learning environments.

What We're Looking For

  • A Level 3 qualification in bakery, professional cookery, food production or a related subject
  • Strong industry experience within bakery or food production

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
  • Previous experience teaching or assessing in a further education setting

If you're ready to inspire the next generation of bakers, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Level 3 qualification in bakery, professional cookery, food production or related subject
  • Strong industry experience within bakery or food production
  • Food hygiene knowledge
  • Health and safety awareness
