A leading further education college based in Northamptonshire is looking for a passionate and experienced Carpentry Assessor to join their team and support the development of the next generation of trade professionals.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with apprentices and learners, guiding them through their qualifications and helping them achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct workplace assessments for Carpentry apprentices in line with apprenticeship standards.
- Provide tailored support, feedback, and guidance to learners to support their progress.
- Monitor and record learner achievements using digital platforms and e-portfolios.
- Liaise with employers and training providers to coordinate assessment visits.
- Ensure all assessments comply with awarding body and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of learner progress and outcomes.
Person Specification
- Vocational qualification in Carpentry at Level 3 or above.
- Recognized Assessor qualification (TAQA, CAVA, or A1).
- Up-to-date industry knowledge and hands-on experience.
- Level 4 teaching qualification (or a willingness to work towards one).
- Full UK driving licence and access to own transport for regular employer site visits.
- Strong communication skills with a proven track record of delivering constructive feedback.
- Familiarity with qualification frameworks, regulatory bodies, and e-portfolio systems.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
