Job Title: Electrical Training Officer
Location: Wales
Salary: Up to Β£40,175 per annum (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (35 Hours per Week, Monday-Friday)
Role Overview
A national apprenticeship provider in the building services sector is seeking a home-based Electrical Training Officer to support apprentices across Wales. This position involves managing a regional caseload of learners, conducting workplace observations, delivering progress reviews, assessing practical competence, and preparing apprentices for End Point Assessment (EPA) and the AM2 exam.
This role is ideal for an experienced NVQ Assessor or a qualified electrician looking to move off the tools into work-based learning. Full training and qualification support (including TAQA Assessor awards and teaching certificates) will be provided for candidate development.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a regional caseload of electrical apprentices across Wales.
Perform regular workplace visits, observations, and progress reviews with apprentices and employers.
Assess apprentice knowledge, practical skills, and professional behaviors against industry standards.
Support learners and employers through Gateway, End Point Assessment (EPA), and AM2 preparation.
Monitor attendance, off-the-job training, and Functional Skills progress.
Provide timely support and interventions for apprentices at risk of falling behind.
Requirements
Essential: NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Installation (or recognized electrical apprenticeship), valid ECS Card, strong technical trade experience, and full UK driving licence.
Desirable: Assessor award (TAQA/A1/D32/D33), 18th Edition BS 7671, C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing, or prior work-based learning experience.
