Summary: Join our New Product Development team in Lymington! We’re looking for a hands-on Junior Product Developer with 1–2 years’ FMCG experience to support packaging and accessory projects from concept to production. Must be able to work in the office 4 days per week.

The Role: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Product Developer to support our New Product Development (NPD) team. In this hands-on role, you will assist in developing secondary packaging and accessory products from concept through to production, working closely with the NPD Manager, Account Manager, Managing Director, and Far East-based factories. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with FMCG sector experience who is ready to take the next step in their career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the NPD Manager in managing multiple packaging and accessory projects.
  • Assist across the full product development cycle: briefing, sample development, approvals, and production handover.
  • Coordinate and track sampling, ensuring all feedback and approvals are accurately documented.
  • Maintain up-to-date product specifications, BOMs, artwork files, and costings.
  • Liaise with factories and suppliers in the Far East for quotes, samples, and clarification.
  • Assist in preparing client presentations, reports, and project documentation.
  • Monitor project timelines and budgets, flagging potential delays or risks.
  • Conduct competitor and trend research to inform product development.
  • Support internal quality reviews to ensure products meet required standards.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Quality teams to ensure specifications are accurate.
  • Maintain clear, version-controlled project information accessible to the wider team.

Requirements:

  • 1–2 years’ experience in NPD, product development, or merchandising within the FMCG sector.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Confident written and verbal communicator, experienced in liaising with suppliers or factories.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); Adobe Illustrator or similar software is a plus.
  • Analytical mindset, comfortable with product data, costs, and timelines.
  • Interest in packaging, materials, and product manufacturing processes.
  • Must be able to work in the Lymington office at least 4 days per week.
