Dovetail Recruitment are proud to be working with a local business that is looking for a Sales Executive to join their team in Ferndown. They are looking to welcome someone into their small but friendly team to support the next stage of the company’s long-term growth. We are looking for someone like-minded who not only enjoys sales, business development, relationship building and account management, but who genuinely cares about the Dorset community.

This is a role where you’ll enjoy the buzz of sales while being rewarded not only through commission, but also through genuine job satisfaction. You’ll be the person who is “in the know” about what’s happening across Dorset and play a key role in helping local businesses promote themselves effectively.

You will inherit an established client base, meaning you’ll have the opportunity to earn commission from day one. You’ll also be supported by the wider team, including a dedicated Pre-Press Administrator, allowing you to focus on sales, account management, client relationships and maximising your earning potential. Full in-house coaching and training is provided, alongside specialist external media sales training, ensuring you have all the tools and support needed to succeed. Applications are welcomed from candidates at all levels of experience, including those with experience as a Sales Executive, Business Development Executive, Account Manager, Advertising Sales Executive, Media Sales Executive or similar customer-focused sales role. Part-time hours may be considered for the right person.

  • Salary of £26,000 – £29,000 per annum
  • OTE of approximately £45,000 – £50,000 (uncapped) paid monthly
  • Working hours: Monday to Thursday, 9.00am – 4.30pm, with a 4.00pm finish on Fridays

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Selling advertising space within high-quality, well-known local magazines and programmes
  • Creating and securing sponsorship packages that deliver genuine value for clients
  • Promoting digital advertising, social media marketing and online marketing solutions
  • Building strong, long-term relationships with both new and existing advertisers
  • Identifying new business opportunities, generating revenue and proactively growing client accounts
  • Managing and developing an established portfolio of customers

Skills and Experience Required

  • A confident communicator with a natural flair for sales
  • Previous experience within a Sales Executive, Account Manager, Business Development, Advertising Sales, Media Sales or customer-facing commercial role
  • Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working towards targets
  • An understanding of how print advertising, digital advertising and social media marketing solutions work together
  • A genuine interest in building long-term business relationships
