ACA/ACCA Practice Accountant £45,000 DOE | Permanent | Verwood, Dorset | Flexible Hours | Ideally Full-Time Looking for a friendly accountancy practice where your experience is genuinely valued? Our client, an established Chartered Accountancy Practice in Verwood, is looking to recruit a Part-Qualified or Qualified Accountant with a practice background to join their friendly and supportive team. This opportunity would suit an ACA or ACCA part-qualified accountant, a recently qualified accountant looking for their next step, or a more experienced practice accountant seeking a long-term local role within a well-established firm. The practice ideally requires someone full-time but can offer flexibility around working hours and days for the right person. The Role This is a varied, hands-on position working with a portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SME clients. You'll be responsible for preparing accounts, working from client bookkeeping records, liaising directly with clients and supporting the smooth completion of year-end accounts work. You'll have ownership of your own workload while working closely with the Practice Principal and wider team. Key Responsibilities Preparing year-end statutory accounts for owner-managed businesses and SME clients Producing accounts from client records and bookkeeping information Posting journals and making year-end adjustments Preparing and maintaining electronic working papers Using accounting systems including Sage, Xero and QuickBooks Liaising directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries Discussing accounts with clients and assisting with sign-off Supporting corporation tax work and computations where required Assisting with general accounts and compliance work across the client portfolio Working closely with the Principal and wider team to meet client deadlines About You This role could suit someone with 2-3 years' post-qualified experience, or a more experienced Practice Accountant seeking a stable and flexible local opportunity. You may be: ACA or ACCA part-qualified with strong accountancy practice experience Recently ACA or ACCA qualified An experienced Practice Accountant looking to join a smaller, friendly firm Seeking a role closer to home with greater flexibility and work-life balance Essential Requirements Previous UK accountancy practice experience Experience preparing statutory accounts Experience working with owner-managed businesses and SME clients Strong communication and client relationship skills Ability to manage your own workload independently Good technical accounting knowledge Professional and approachable manner Desirable Experience Corporation tax experience Sage, Xero or QuickBooks knowledge Experience using accounts production software Please note, applicants must have previous UK accountancy practice experience. Candidates whose experience has been solely within industry are unlikely to be suitable for this role. What's On Offer?
