This is a blue chip company based in Basingstoke with a long history within their industry - they are market leaders in their field which is workwear laundry processing. They are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to join their team.
The objective of the role is to supervise the team preparing, processing, finishing, repairing or despatching items to required quality standards using appropriate equipment or plant, working to Company guidelines on productivity and efficiency and meeting customer commitments.
The role involves:
- To ensure customer requests are completed on time, if not notify line manager in advance
- To ensure departmental resources are maximized wherever possible (machinery/labour/materials)
- To ensure pre agreed delivery dates are achieved, if not notify line manager in advance
- To ensure good communications and working relationships between staff and management
- To ensure the company health and safety policy is adhered to at all times in the department
- To ensure all department queries are dealt with in a timely manner
- To identify and oversee training requirements
- To ensure machinery is maintained correctly, if not escalate to line manager
- To keep accurate records where required
- To keep work area clean, tidy, safe and secure at all times
- To carry out any reasonable request made by management
- To carry out duties as laid down in BS EN ISO 9001: 2000 / 14001 Local Working Instructions and Company Operations Manual which may be updated from time to time
- To wear and use Personal Protective Equipment and handling aids, where supplied, at all times for all relevant tasks
- To carry out all tasks to comply with Company Policy on Health & Safety and COSHH requirements
Experience required:
Candidates must come from a Production environment, ideally within Laundry but if not, within the FMCG market place. Experience of supervising a team within production is essential.
