We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join their busy logistics operation.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business where you'll play a key role in leading a team, maintaining high operational standards, and supporting the day-to-day running of the warehouse.
Working closely with the Warehouse Shift Manager, you'll be responsible for motivating your team, ensuring productivity targets are met, and promoting a safe and efficient working environment.
Shift Pattern
This role operates on a fortnightly rotating shift pattern
- Early Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm
- Late Shift: Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm – 10:00pm, Friday 11:00am – 7:00pm
Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate and support a warehouse team to achieve daily operational targets.
Allocate workloads to ensure all tasks are completed within agreed timescales.
Monitor productivity and performance, ensuring high standards are maintained.
Manage attendance, timekeeping, return-to-work interviews and other people-related processes.
Conduct investigations and disciplinary meetings where required.
Work closely with the Warehouse Shift Manager to ensure effective communication across the operation.
Promote and maintain excellent Health & Safety standards.
Identify training and development needs within the team.
Act as deputy for the Shift Manager during periods of absence.
Spend the majority of your shift leading by example on the warehouse floor.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience supervising or leading a team within a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment.
- Strong people management skills, including experience with performance management and employee development.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good IT and computer literacy.
- A proactive, hands-on leadership style with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety within a warehouse environment.
