Our studio is situated in a river-front building in the heart of the Historic Dockyard in Chatham, Kent, UK. We are growing fast, developing our games using cutting-edge technology and delivering these on multiple platforms: PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series S/X.
We are looking for a motivated and talented Concept Artist to join Dovetail Games working across our Train Sim World titles. You will be responsible for the style and mood setting of our games.
Main Responsibilities- Set the tone and style of our game in collaboration with art and design directors
- Gather reference material for style guides and mood boards
- Produce creative designs from initial sketches to final concepts for environment, characters, and vehicles
- Brainstorm and iterate on visuals to support best the game’s intention
- Work closely with the production artists to communicate the vision
- At least 4 years’ experience working in games as a Concept Artist
- Strong knowledge of Photoshop
- Expertise in illustration, visual design, and conceptual thinking
- Strong eye for light, colour, and composition
- Understanding of game development pipelines & limitations
- Interest in architecture, large western cities, and urban settings
- Knowledge of 3D software a plus
- Self-driven, proactive, and able to work from feedback
- Good communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
